Telenor Easy Paisa | Easy ‘Money Transfer’ Launched

Posted on: November 21, 2009

Easy Paisa
Yesterday Telenor came up with another breed product of easy paisa, they named it ‘Money Transfer’, and of course, it is easy to use. Never the less it’s a joint venture between Tameer Bank and Telenor.  As for the Telenor’s prospective, they have tried everything to ensure the final product to look strong as well as easy to use. Let me tell you how it works:

Operational Circle:

Total operational ‘Easy Paisa’ outlets are around 4120 where any Pakistani regardless of if he/she is a Telenor subscriber or not can send money anywhere to anyone within Pakistan through these ‘Easy Paisa’ outlets throughout country. If you want to search any Easy Paisa outlet in your area, you can use this link to find out nearest outlet from here: http://www.easypaisa.com.pk/agent.php

The Big Idea:

Imagine yourself in a situation where you need to send money to your home or to your friend urgently but you are on job and you can’t manage to go to Bank and stand out waiting in the long queues in order to send money orders! That is so hectic. Therefore, Telenor came up with a big idea for using this saturated industry of telecom make life easier. Send money any where any time to anyone! wow…

Working:

Have a look at this video…

Control:

Now the question is that how Telenor will be controlling the money channel transactions. Well they have put in a few checks as under:
  • You can send or receive maximum of Rs. 10,000 or maximum of three transaction per month per CNIC
  • The CNIC of sender and receiver is mandatory. Customer and receiver must have original CNIC along with a copy of it before sending or receiving money respectively
  • State Bank’s Regulations Applied on transitions, that is, all un-claimed amounts (transactions sent but not received) will be surrendered to the State Bank of Pakistan after 10 years
  • Customers are encouraged to receive their transactions at the earliest to avoid any inconvenience

Service Charges:

The Good News:

Telenor has many products in pipeline under “Easy Paisa”. Therefore, we can stick to our seats and see what is coming next.

Suggestion:

They can make simulation videos to teach the people of rural areas. Through ads or print media can play the part as well.

Conclusion:

It seems like they have targeted rural areas more. Well if I imagine myself in a situation where I have a friend or fellow in some other city and he is equally educated and well aware to use Money Transfer, urban to urban will work fine here but I have just minor concerns over the use of this in Urban – Rural transactions. Hope I am wrong though!

Feed Back:

I put this part on you to write me feedback about this “Easy Paisa’s Money Transfer”. Review it and send me your words on this. I’ll see you in the next review. Chao!

wondering if you any branch or suggestion like to send $100.00 from Calgary, Canada, to my sister in karachi Pakistan

This system is launched to deal with the transactions inside the country Jamal. There are other ways like I guess the best available option for international transaction is Western Union.

hi,
this is great idea for busy persons who are very busy in his work / job.

It is a very useful scheme but my relative at Sheikhupra city has complained that he is not being paid by the dealers including Telenor head office the money I sent him for Eid saying that network is down since morning. Such instances may lead to failure of the scheme. Please take some action.
