The WebX 2010

The WebX 2010, a successful effort by bloggers of Islamabad who activated their social circles and communities to come up with a big idea of creating blog awareness through Blogging Workshop, Blogger’s Meet-up, Seminar on Entrepreneurship and Internet Marketing Workshop. To add the element of attraction there was a Web Design Competition too.

Lets jump into detail of this event.

The organizing body of this event were bloggers community of Behria University. The lits includes:

Lets have a look at each day’s activities now 🙂

Day 1:

Day 1 featured two events named as WebX Blogging Workshop and WebX Meetup. The first event started at around 12 pm and carried all the way to 4:30 pm. Saad Hamid, Hamad Dar, Shoaib Khan and Uzair Sajid well conducted the workshop. The main point for this workshop were to convince people to blog and to show how easy is it to have a blog. Along with this they educated about the Blogging Ethics. By the end Saad Hamid discussed some technical part of Blogging in Ten Steps starting from how to setup a blog all the way till how to embed earning streams in the blog. The event was attended by 60 participants.

The next event in-line for the day was WebX Meetup featuring success stories from Rawalpindi/Islamabad. The session started at around 6 pm and was well attended by 120 participants ranging from diversified fields. Bloggers, students and representatives of companies were there to see the proceedings. The featured Success Stories included:

The session was hosted by two of the most enthusiastic guys, Uzair Sajid and Shoaib Khan.

Day 2:

Entrepreneurship was the talk of the day! CEO’s from various companies who started their career as entrepreneurs stated their success stories. Along with this they talked on what qualities an entrepreneur should incorporate.  The keynote speakers are listed below:

  • Mr. Tariq Chaudhry (President & CEO, Falcon Engineering Group, and President of Pakistan Computer Society)
  • Shehryar Hydri (COO Trango Interactive)
  • Sajjad Zaidi (President and CEO, iinix Solutions)
  • Waleed Riaz (Director and Program Manager, Digital Prodigy Limited)
  • Zubair Khan (CEO, Tranchulas)

Well over 100 participants attended the session. Those included students and prospective entrepreneurs.

Day 3:

Third day was the most exciting and fun. The workshop was on Internet Marketing by Google Pakistan. P@SHA was also sharing the show. Badar Khushnood (Country Consultant Pakistan) gave a 3 hour session and educated the audience about Internet Marketing and the usage of Google Products in Internet Marketing. More than 60 representatives from various fields related to IT and Management attended the workshop.


This activity sure created some difference in the professionals and students sphere where they will be thinking seriously to get on blogging as well. These kind of events should keep on going on regular bases in order to create an awareness in Professionals and Students.

That was an interactive session by Badar Khushnood. I enjoyed the session and learned a lot from the info that he shared.
